Early Development, AGE: 2-5
In this fun and engaging course, preschoolers will explore the special symbols of California through colorful lessons and hands-on activities. Each lesson introduces a different state symbol using simple explanations and printable coloring pages. Students will learn about California’s flower, bird, tree, animal, nut, fish, insect, and more, while discovering fascinating facts and building early appreciation for the natural world around them.
K-6 Grade, AGE: 5-11
This course offers a sweeping overview of California state history—from ancient landscapes and Indigenous cultures to exploration, colonization, statehood, and modern industry. Through diverse topics students explore lost histories, environmental changes, social struggles, and cultural resilience, all while gaining a deeper understanding of the region’s complex past and its impact on the present.
6-12 Grade, AGE: 12-18
This course introduces students to California’s rich cultural and natural history through engaging, accessible lessons. Students will explore how people, land, and resources have shaped the state. Informational texts, comprehension activities, and creative worksheets bring California’s geography, biodiversity, and diverse communities to life.
